IKEY introduces the worlds first wireless industrial keyboard
12 September 2005
IKEY, a leader in industrial computer peripherals, has released its most innovative product yet, the DW-5K wireless industrial keyboard/pointing device.
The full-sized DW-5K incorporates 2.4 GHz WirelessUSB™ technology for a reliable 30-foot range. Because it operates using radio frequency signals, the DW-5K is not susceptible to the line of sight issues associated with infrared keyboards, and will even communicate with a pc inside a metal enclosure.

Offering versatile, 116 key functionality, the DW-5K boasts 24 function keys, as well as a 10-key numeric pad. Its integrated, 3-button HulaPoint II™ pointing device allows for convenient cursor control, while eliminating the need for an external mouse.

Ideal for use in harsh environment applications, the DW-5K is constructed using a sealed, industrial silicone keypad and robust ABS polycarbonate case. Like other products in the IKEY line, The DW-5K meets NEMA 4X specifications, ensuring the device is protected from dust, water and corrosive liquids.

Utilizing a plug and play USB dongle, the DW-5K is automatically detected by a host computer, while a binding feature locks in the keyboard’s signal for keystroke security, the ability to operate multiple wireless keyboards within the same environment, and a barrier from interference with other wireless devices.
